Mutant Robot Review

Title: Mutant Robot
Genre: Action/shooter
Release/update: December 20, 2012
Price: $0.99
Rating: 1.5 out of 5

After the last couple of games have left me depressed and losing hope in zombie games all together, I decided to break away from anything zombie related and see what else would catch my attention.  I ran across this title Mutant robot which in to me was so contradicting in the title alone that i had to see where they were going with this one. Oh and if you're lost about the contradicting part i was referring to the fact that a mutant by definition is something living that has a mutation, for example a mutation in one of our genes causing an abnormality.  Which would be impossible for a robot since they are not a living thing.... for now. Anyways back to the subject at hand.  At first glance this game looks like there was a good amount of time and effort that was invested into the graphics and detail.  From the character design to the background and animations for movement.  The controls are your typical shooter.  On screen analog stick on the left side for movement and on the right side for aiming and firing. The sounds were basic and nothing to out of the grid of average.  After playing for a while i must say that the game to me was pretty boring.  The robot enemies were easy to come across and did not pose to much of a threat.  I'm not to sure but if i were to bet on it i keep running across games that were meant to entertain children in elementary.

Although there was a good job and effort in the graphics the design of the level could have used a little more time.  I was stuck in rooms for a minute before i could figure out the giant tire was a door way.  Possibly a mini map in a corner would have helped lead the way.  For example when you get stuck in a room after killing all the enemies you tend to get bored and lose interest quickly.  Which sad to say is what happened here.  There was no direction to let me know where to go next so i basically just wondered around finding a simple enemy to kill every now and then until i became so bored of the game that i stopped right where i was at.  So in conclusion great job on the graphics but the game play  design, and creativity could use some work on the next go around.  We need to create a bit of a challenge to your player to keep them interested.  So my personal opinion is i would pass.  After this being the third game in a row that has been a disappointment i'm going to set out to find an epic game in my next review to get me back on track and knock out the bad juju  these recent games have brought me.

Ninja vs Samurai Zombies Review

Title: Ninja vs Samurai Zombies
Genre: Action
Release/update: December 28, 2012
Price:  Free
Rating: 1 out of 5

I'm starting to wonder if i am just getting certain games based on their titles or i have an addiction to anything zombie related.  With a title like ninja vs samurai zombies i had to give this one a look. Sadly this game does not live up to the awesomeness of the title.  I should have known something was up when an add popped up as soon as i opened the game.  But then again its free so they have to make their money somehow.  It was really overkill with the ads popping up every other screen.  anyways back to the game.  The goal of the game is to make it to the end without running into these zombie samurai's.  The game is pretty basic you can move left and right by tilting your device and you have different attacks to choose from on the left and right sides of the screen.  It was really easy to play and to kill the zombies so there was not much challenge there.

What really grinds my gears is you only have so many attacks that you can use!  What happens when you run out of attacks you ask?  Then it takes you to a store to purchase more attacks, which really takes the point of being a free game out the picture.  So basically its a free download but if you want to continue to play you have to pay.  Not a fan of that at all these guys could learn a thing or two from the creators of JetPack JoyRide.  So in conclusion the game was made poorly, its to easy, and they are really just tricking you into either clicking one of the numerous ads or if you are at all interested in the game you are going to be paying for more attacks.  Not to mention they have an option for kids mode on the right hand side of the screen and when you click on it, it wants to charge you $3.99?!  This is not how a free game should be done.  It's almost like they made a cheap game as a cover to make money.  If you run across this in the apple store do yourself a favor and keep scrolling.  its not worth the download.

Zombowling HD Review

Title: Zombowling HD Review
Genre: Bowling/Arcade
Release/update: August 5, 2011
Price: $2.99
Rating: 1 out of 5

Being that I am horrible at bowling in real life the only time I bowl is on my phone or ipad.  That being said when I ran across a game that had both bowling and zombies I had to give it a look. From the start the game looks very basic. your bowling ball is a grenade and your bowling pins are zombies. you have 3 different modes to choose from. Classic Game which is you basic game of bowling with 10 frames.  Being that you  are bowling with a grenade makes this game to easy.  I just kept bowling down the middle and it would explode and take out any zombies in the area, which meant no skill had to be involved.
After the classic game I moved on to the Long Shots game.
In this game the distance between you and the "zombie pins" increase after every frame.  Although the distance was greater the game was still just as easy, I just had to bowl right down the middle with a grenade and I was gold. The last mode was the "power shots game" In this mode you start of with one zombie and the amount of pins increase every frame.  This had just a bit more of a challenge in the end because the amount of zombies was so dense that it would take two grenades to get them all.  My thought on the game is that it would have a better chance of being a free game with ads on the bottom versus charging people $2.99  The graphics are poor the game play is to easy, it does not present any challenge at all.  i would pass on this game personally.
